What is NDIS?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) was initiated by the Australian Government for people with disability, including people with intellectual, physical, sensory, and psycho-social disabilities.
The NDIS allocates funding to disabled persons based on their individual needs, choice and allows individuals to be in control of how, when and who will provide services to meet their goals.
The NDIS funding provides many different supports in a wide range of areas to enable individuals to live as independently as possible and achieve their goals. Every person has their needs assessed, and then a tailored plan is created to assist in achieving personal goals.

NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission
The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission is an independent agency established to improve the quality and safety of NDIS supports and services.
It regulates NDIS providers, provides national consistency, promotes safety and quality services, resolves problems, and identifies areas for improvement.The national regulator of providers of NDIS supports and services is now established in all Australian states and territories.
The NDIS Commission will:
- Ensure providers and workers comply with the quality and safety guidelines.
- Assist with management of the NDIS rules and regulations.
- Register and regulate NDIS providers.
